A Cooperative's Mission to Cut Costs and Empower Communities in Bo District In Sierra Leone's poultry sector, farmers in Bo District face a critical challenge: the prohibitive cost and unreliable supply of feed, which severely limits their productivity and profitability. High dependency on imported and expensive maizebased products, combined with outdated manual production methods, creates a significant barrier to sustainable farming. But from within the community, the Bo Poultry Feed Producers Cooperative has developed an innovative, homegrown solution that leverages one of the region's most abundant crops: cassava.
To provide high-quality, affordable agricultural products that enhance farmers’ productivity and profitability, while serving as a strong contributor to community development and economic growth.
To be a leading locally owned agricultural producer, promoting sustainable farming practices and transforming agriculture into a profitable and impactful sector for rural communities.
